Seoul Dongdaemun Gloryinn Hotel Review and Experience

The hotel smelled nice as soon as I walked in. Although the check-in was late, the refreshing man at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. The building has a sense of history, but it is well-maintained and offers a quiet and calm atmosphere. The toilet could flush paper, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. It was a great location for enjoying night shopping in Dongdaemun. Places like Gwangjang Market, Myeongdong, and Apgujeong… since it was a trip with my aunt, we used taxis for transportation, but it was easy and inexpensive to get anywhere. The limousine bus stop was directly across the street from the hotel, making it easy for a first-time visitor to Korea to access the airport. And above all, the female owner is amazing! She’s humorous, friendly, and very good at Japanese! By chance, there was a birthday party for one of the employees, and the lasagna we were given a share of was very delicious. I definitely want to use this hotel again the next time I go to Korea.

I chose this hotel because I heard from reviews that there is a Japanese-speaking lady at the front desk, and I was a bit anxious about my first trip to Korea. At check-in, there was a male staff member at the front desk who spoke English, and he explained everything in a way that was easy to understand, so it was fine even though I don’t understand English or Korean. The room was a budget room, but there was enough space for me to open two suitcases. There was no partition between the shower and the toilet, so I brought a large plastic bag from Japan and covered the area around the toilet, which was funny. When I was taking a shower, the lights in the shower room suddenly turned off, which surprised me, but my friend turned the lights back on, and after that, I was able to use it without any problems. I was also lent a plug adapter and a luggage scale to measure the weight of my suitcase. I was grateful for the banana and mini cake served in the morning! I would like to use this hotel again when I go to Korea. Thank you very much!

This is my third time staying here with a friend. Everything is so convenient here and I love that it’s quiet at night. It’s 7 minutes walk to the subway, the airport bus is directly opposite the hotel. And surround the area there are 3 different convenience store you can go to, walkable to gwangjang market too. My friend also liked the place, it’s her first time, she said it was cosy and just nice. Staff are always to helpful and friendly. Will definitely stay here again!
