To be honest, I was a bit reluctant to book this hotel after reading the reviews. But I think you have to experience the stay for yourself and on your indivdual needs. I stayed four nights here.

This hotel has a beautiful front desk. There are many potted plants at the lobby and it gave a calm greenery feel. I felt relaxed immediately after making my way from the airport.

The process of registration and up to my room was trouble free. The front desk staff spoke English. However, not all staff spoke English but I think it was fine as there are other ways of communication. Like using a translation apps. I requested for a change of the hair dryer. They understood me just fine and changed it on the spot. Having travel to Europe, you don’t get such immediate action. The Koreans are not native English speakers just like we are not native Korean speakers. So we need to understand this when we are visiting a country.

I didn’t mind my room was cleaned only on my request as I believe this is a form of respecting my privacy. 😊

The location is great. With a lot of food, shopping, cafe etc….. close to the metro station and an airport bus right in front. Although it is slightly out of the tourist area but I am great I was able to escape to a quieter area as myeondong area is extremely crowded and jam packed. you are able to get to Seongsu too.

Overall, it was a good stay and I will stay again if I am going to Seoul again. To the hotel staff, thank you for taking care of me when I was there and special thank you to the Housekeepers for cleaning my room well. Good job! 😊

I am very surprised how my stay went so exceptional at Hotel The Artist. It’ was clean, the staffs were welcoming despite language barrier, and the room was simple, comfy and aesthetic.

Will surely book again on my next visit in South Korea :)

Stayed here for 5 nights and 6 days, and honestly, it was such a vibe. Check-in and check-out were super smooth—everything was explained clearly, so no stress. The location? Chef’s kiss. It’s literally across from the 6011 Donam Sageori Sungshin Univ bus stop, and you can easily walk to Sungshin Women’s Univ Station (Line 4, Exit 1). So convenient! Plus, there’s a big Olive Young, convenience stores, fast food spots, and tons of restaurants nearby.

The room was clean, and they’ve got all the essentials covered. They even hook you up with a little welcome pack with a toothbrush, toothpaste, etc., when you check in. The TV is stacked with cable channels, and you can binge Netflix, Disney+, and local streaming apps like TVing. The bed? 10/10—so comfy. They also provide free drinking water and coffee, which is always a win.

One heads-up: if you want your room cleaned, you have to let the front desk know—they don’t do it automatically. But I loved how the remote control in the room could handle everything, like the lights and TV.

The only downside? The temperature control. It was winter, so the centralized ondol (heated floors) was on, but it got too hot sometimes. I legit had to crack open the window in the middle of the night just to cool down. Minor inconvenience, though, because everything else was great. Would definitely stay here again!
